Will Young confirmed for Strictly Come Dancing 2016
Continuing to add to this year’s list of contestants with two-syllable names, the people behind Strictly Come Dancing have confirmed that Will Young shall be joining Ed Balls in the 2016 edition of the dancing contest.
The 37-year-old former Pop Idol winner, who’s no stranger to performing in front of a judging panel and accruing viewer votes, seems like the perfect fit for the show’s new season.
“As a fan of Strictly for years, I have always imagined myself on the show, but the timing has not been right… until now!” Young said in a statement.
He also took to Twitter, saying he was “So excited!” in response to the official Strictly account’s announcement.

Strictly hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman recently revealed that they already know who all the contestants are for the new series, while we members of the public await each announcement with baited breath.
Winkleman said: “There’s something for everyone… there’s young, there’s old, there’s small, there’s tall, there’s cuddly, there’s abrasive. Actually there’s no abrasive ones, I miss the abrasive ones”.
