Will Scarlett Moffatt be forced to quit Gogglebox now that she’s on I’m A Celeb?
Scarlett Moffatt has been announced as one of the ten celebrities that will be entering the jungle for I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! on Sunday, but does this mean that her Gogglebox days are over?
One of Gogglebox‘s most loved stars Scarlett Moffatt has been confirmed as a contestant on I’m A Celeb this year, meaning that she will have to pull out of filming for the Channel 4 show for the foreseeable future.
However, fans of the show are questioning whether this means Scarlett will be forced to quit Gogglebox for good.
During speculation over which famous faces might be venturing into the Australian wilderness for the ITV series this year, Scarlett’s name was amongst many of the rumour whispers. However, most fans of the show ruled her out after The Sun reported that she was forbidden from entering the jungle by Channel 4 bosses. Apparently an appearance on the reality series would result in her having to leave Gogglebox altogether.
A source told the newspaper: “ITV have made an approach for her to go on I’m A Celeb but she isn’t allowed. It would break her exclusivity contract with C4.”
Now that it has been confirmed by ITV that Scarlett is indeed set to be on the programme, perhaps this means the Geordie star will be given the boot from the Gogglebox sofa.
A Channel 4 spokesperson insisted that no such decision has yet taken place, telling Digital Spy: “Scarlett Moffatt is going to I’m a Celebrity and will no longer participate in this series of Gogglebox.
“The show’s producers have not had any conversations with Scarlett about leaving or returning to Gogglebox after her stint in the Jungle.
“The Moffatts have been excellent contributors to Gogglebox, and we are very grateful for all they have given to the show.”
Scarlett will be joined in the jungle by Carol Vorderman, Jordan Banjo, Wayne Bridge, Joel Dommett, Ola Jordan, Larry Lamb, Sam Quek, Lisa Snowdon and Adam Thomas. Click here to see the full 2016 line up complete with promo gifs of the celebs!
