Who Is Jane Doe? Blindspot Airs On Sky Living
When a mysterious duffel bag is found in Times Square, New York with a label reading “Call the FBI” – the square is shut down and the bomb squad is sent in. What they actually discover is a naked, heavily tattooed woman with no idea who she is or how she got there.
“Jane Doe” (Jaimie Alexander) is a remarkable discovery. With absolutely no memory of her own life events, she is still a highly skilled, highly intelligent individual. The more she is tested, the more the FBI believes she has been trained in a military style. Her tattoos are the second mystery; covering her body they seem to be encrypted clues to impending crimes on a huge scale (think blowing up the Statue of Liberty). Most intriguing, however, is the tattoo on her back that reads “Kurt Weller FBI” (Sullivan Stapleton) – an agent who is quickly assigned to her case. What is their mysterious connection?
The show’s pedigree background stems mainly from executive producer Greg Berlanti. His career hit a flying start with his work as a writer and producer on long-running series Dawson’s Creek. In recent years, he has been the creator of Arrow (LINK) and subsequent spin off The Flash (LINK) showing Berlanti is no stranger to hit TV shows. Both Supergirl (LINK) and Legends of Tomorrow cite Berlanti as their producer as well – it seems everything he touches turns to gold.
Described as “Bourne meets Memento”, it seems Berlanti’s Blindspot will be another title to add to his list of hits. To add to the intrigue, each episode (following the pilot) employs an anagram as its title – play detective and see if you can figure out where the episode will lead you.
