Pete Wicks says he “needs a break” from TOWIE after “mentally draining” series
Pete Wicks has admitted he is looking forward to a break from The Only Way Is Essex after an emotionally exhausting season 20.
It’s been one hell of a series for the TOWIE star this year, after being publicly shamed for his sexting scandal and then going through a seriously messy break-up with Megan McKenna, all on camera.
Season 20 came to a close this Wednesday (May 3) and, although we might be wondering what we’re now going to do with our Sunday and Wednesday evenings, Pete is certainly relieved to finally have a break. Speaking at the MCK Grill launch, he said: “The show has been tough.
“It has definitely been a hard series and I need this break; I need to concentrate on myself.
“It has felt like a long time since we started filming this year; TOWIE can be mentally draining sometimes.
“Hopefully by the next series I will be fully loaded.”
Pete’s break-up with Megan has also created tensions between him and his fellow co-stars Chloe Sims, Tommy Mallet and Georgia Kousoulou. However, the tattooed star insisted he no longer “gives a s***” about what everyone else has to say.
He continued: “Just because Megan and I are civil doesn’t mean we’re together.
“People don’t understand that we’re able to be civil.
“Not every ex can be as we are and it’s weird to other people but I don’t give a s***.
“If Chloe doesn’t like it and wants to keep talking about it then so be it.”
After witnessing scenes of Pete bitching about her and Tommy on Wednesday, Georgia posted a video rant on Snapchat. She said: “F**k off Pete. No one likes you. Or Lockie. I’ve had enough now.
“If Lockie didn’t like what we said about Pete, he should have said that, instead of going in on personal comments about our relationship.
“We never went in on Pete and Megan as a couple, we stuck up for our friend.”
The Only Way Is Essex will return soon to ITVBe.
