New Gold series is basically Gogglebox with the UK’s best comedians
New year, new comedy, new laughs.
Tonight, GOLD launches a brand new comedy series called ‘We Have Been Watching‘ and it sounds strikingly familiar.
In six hour-long episodes, some of Britain’s finest comedy talent will sit down on a sofa to watch some of Britain’s finest comedies and share their opinions. That’s right, we’re basically getting Gogglebox with comedians, and we are so on board with this.
Some of the country’s top talent will take part in the series, offering comedy insights and criticisms on some of the funniest scenes on television ever.
Big names such as David Baddiel, Maxine Peake, Nigel Planer and Jo Joyner will set some time aside for the sofa and to enjoy old comedy favourites such as Steptoe and Son, Morecambe and Wise, Father Ted and Fawlty Towers.
The series will also reunite some of comedy’s greatest ever comedy pairings, such as Only Fools and Horses‘ John Challis and Sue Holderness, Miranda‘s Sally Phillips and Sarah Hadland, The Royle Family‘s Ricky Tomlinson and Ralf Little and Him and Her‘s Russell Tovey and Sarah Solemani.
Comedians watching comedians. This is going to be comedy gold.
