Mummy Diaries’ Sam Faiers discusses life with Crohn’s disease
The Mummy Diaries‘ star Sam Faiers has opened up about her life with Crohn’s disease, arguing it’s important to speak out about the condition.
Sam and her sister Billie appeared on ITV’s Lorraine today to promote their ITVBe series The Mummy Diaries.
Sam has been vocal in the past about the fact she has Crohn’s disease; a type of inflammatory bowel disease. Speaking about the recent revelation that magician Dynamo also has the disease – following the video he posted on his social media accounts this week – host Lorraine said: “I thought that was amazing that he posted those pictures.”
Sam agreed: “Amazing, yes.
“People don’t want to talk about it and they think it’s embarrassing, so the fact that he spoke out is amazing because, when I used to speak about it a lot when I was going through my flare up, I helped so many people and reached out to so many people.”
The former TOWIE star continued: “Obviously everyone has different cases and different strengths, and I think that it’s just great that he’s speaking out about it.”
The girls also discussed Billie’s wedding plans, as the reality star is soon to tie the knot with fiancé Greg Shepherd.
Billie gushed: “I can finally say the wedding is happening!
“Yeah, we’re really excited.”
Billie also admitted that Greg has been a somewhat of a “groom-zilla” during the run up to the wedding.
“Greg’s more groom-zilla,” Billie confessed.
Sam added: “The men can be just as bad!”
Lorraine airs weekdays at 8:30am on ITV.
Sam and Billie Faiers: The Mummy Diaries airs Wednesday at 9pm on ITVBe.
