Jeremy Clarkson to ‘make cameo’ on Chris Evans Top Gear
In a shocking twist to the controversies and general ill will surrounding the new series of Top Gear, it was today announced that the latest incarnation of the motoring show, as hosted by Chris Evans and Matt LeBlanc, will feature a surprise cameo from a very unexpected guest.
Accompanying the first look trailer of Top Gear‘s 23rd season, which dropped yesterday afternoon, a spokesman for the BBC let slip that the show’s former host – who was fired after that notorious ‘fracas’ with producer Oisin Tymon over the on-set catering – will nevertheless be showing his face when the series returns this May.
“Jeremy Clarkson may no longer be hosting Top Gear, but that does not mean he won’t be appearing in the new series”, said the source, who wishes to remain anonymous.
The news is sure to delight fans of the show’s original lineup, who have been vocal in their displeasure about the BBC’s choice of new hosts.
Whether Richard Hammond and James May will be joining Clarkson in the cameo is as yet unconfirmed.
The 23rd season of Top Gear begins May 8th on BBC Two.
