Four of Diamonds to replace Brooks Way on The X Factor
Girl group Four of Diamonds will replace Brooks Way on The X Factor, it has been announced.
Caroline, Lauren, Yasmin and Sophia, collectively known as Four of Diamonds, were previously eliminated from the competition at the Judges’ Houses stage by Groups mentor Louis Walsh. However, they have now been reinstated in the live shows after Brooks Ways’ disqualification from The X Factor.
Speaking about their return to the show, Four of Diamonds said in a statement: “We are so excited to be back on The X Factor we’re really looking forward to performing live, working hard and showing everyone what we’re made of.”
Louis Walsh said that he had “listened to the fans” in making his choice over which of his four acts would return to the competition. He added he hoped the girls could “take me all the way to the final”.
He said: “I was really impressed with the girls at Judges’ Houses but only had three spots to fill for the Live Shows. At the time a lot of viewers were disappointed that I didn’t put the girls through, now that a place has opened up in my category, I’ve listened to the fans and am delighted to be bringing the girls back. They’re a great girl group and I’m hoping will take me all the way to the final.”
The news comes shortly after it was revealed Brooks Way, the group consisting of twins Josh and Kyle Brooks, would not be returning to the competition following allegations of assault by Josh on his former girlfriend.
The pair did not perform in the live finals at the weekend, prompting confusion from fans after host Dermot O’Leary told viewers: “Sadly, due to unforeseen circumstances, Brooks Way will not be performing tonight.”
Four of Diamonds will perform in the live shows for the first time this weekend.
