Watch: Deadly Deadpool Trailer
Ryan Reynolds destroys his enemies in a violent rampage in the first trailer for Deadpool.
Appearing for the first time since the 2009 film X-Men Origins: Wolverine the Deadpool movie looks at the story behind how everyone’s favourite anti-hero came to be, reprised by the actor who took him on last, Ryan Reynolds.
Traditionally, Deadpool is a disfigured and mentally unstable mercenary with the superhuman ability of an accelerated healing factor who is also known as the “Merc with a Mouth” because of his talkative nature and tendency to (in the Marvel comic books) break the fourth wall, which is used by writers to humorous effect.
And as the trailer shows, this is exactly what can be expected in Deadpool when it is released in early 2016. Reynolds, in the 2 minute and 55 second teaser, is quick to quip those around him, including his enemies, to whom he says: “You may wonder why I am wearing a red suit — it’s so the bad guys can’t see me bleed.”
It further gives fans a look at how how Reynold’s Wade Wilson became Deadpool, with the trailer opening with Wilson’s diagnosis of having cancer throughout his body. However, the situation somehow isn’t as dire as it first appeared when he’s promised, “We can give you abilities most men only dream of, we can make you a superhero.”
Deadpool is set to be released on February 12, 2016, by Marvel Enterprises and Twentieth Century Fox and further stars Morena Baccarin, Ed Skrein, T.J. Miller and Brianna Hildebrand with Tim Miller directing.
