Claudette Hubbard to leave EastEnders
Claudette Hubbard is set to leave EastEnders in a few weeks time, according to Digital Spy.
During an explosive year on the London-based soap, the Hubbard matriarch has stirred up arguments with the Mitchell family, sent poor Fatboy Chubb to his death in a car crusher and struck up a surprise romance with Patrick Trueman (despite the fact he left her for dead a few months before – it’s a long story).
The news comes as a surprise as Claudette recently made up with her family, who disowned her following the revelation that it was her who murdered her husband twenty year ago – not, as she had always alleged, Phil’s dad Eric Mitchell.
There will plenty of wiggle space for Claudette to return however, with the door reportedly being left wide open for a potential return. Claudette’s family Vincent, Donna and little Pearl, will still be hanging around on Albert Square, after all.
Claudette actor Ellen Thomas has completed filming her final scenes on the soap and will be appearing next month in The Hotel Cerise, a new stage show at The Theatre Royal Stratford East in October and November.
A spokesperson told Digital Spy: “As our regular viewers will know, Claudette has often been seen coming and going from the Square to visit her family and friends.
“This is the end of another stint for Claudette and we wish Ellen all the best for the future.”
Claudette’s final scenes will air in the upcoming weeks.
