Caroline Flack defends Love Island’s decision to upset Dani with misleading Jack footage
Caroline Flack has defended Love Island after the show received complaints for last night’s (July 1) Jack-Dani twist.
Yesterday’s Love Island episode saw the girls in the villa receive some video footage from the boys over at Casa Amor.
Included in the video story was a rather misleading clip of Jack’s shocked reaction as his ex-girlfriend Ellie entered the separate villa.
Dani, Jack’s current girlfriend, was reduced to tears by the footage, which led to Ofcom receiving 650 complaints from viewers.
Speaking on Love Island: Aftersun, host Caroline Flack backed the producers’ decision to show Dani the clip.
“Why did they have to show her that footage?” asked Matt Edmondson.
“Because have to test relationships – that’s what we do,” she replied.
An Ofcom spokeswoman told BANG Showbiz: “We are considering these complaints against our broadcasting rules, before deciding whether or not to investigate.”
Love Island continues tonight (Monday) at 9pm on ITV2.
